We kregen de laatste weken al heel wat vragen of de Sprint nu kan plaatsvinden op 3 september.
Het antwoord is volmondig JA. Alleen verhuizen we dit jaar van de Ringlaan naar de Industrielaan. De Industrielaan is net om de hoek van de Ringlaan, op het punt waar normaal de motoren terugkeren. Voor de rest blijft alles bij het oude: motoren van de jaren zeventig op het terrein en alle jongere motoren op de bezoekersparking. De dranktent zal er staan, de pastabar en het frietkot en er kan gereden worden!!!
We hadden al even de toestemming van het stadsbestuur en de lokale politie voor onze Sprint. Zij hadden wel gezegd dat er nog een overleg moest zijn met het Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer en de aannemer van de werken aan de Ringlaan. En toen stelde het AWV zijn veto: de Ringlaan mag niet afgesloten worden!
Terug in overleg met het Stadsbestuur en de lokale politie en sinds deze week is het dus zeker: we mogen de Industrielaan inpalmen voor onze Sprint.
